Impact to things spiritual

Do you feel that the emphasis on observation and the scientific method have been detrimental to spirituality? Why or why not?

    Yes I believe it has. With the advent of information availability, people are free to learn and understand things beyond what they are exposed to normally. So more and more there is less and less need for superstitious spirituality.
